Q: Do I need prior riding experience to join a tour?
A: Not at all! Our tours cater to all levels, from complete beginners to experienced riders. Before setting off on the trails, our expert guides provide a thorough briefing and basic instruction to ensure you feel completely comfortable and safe in the saddle.
Q: What should I wear and bring for a horseback riding tour?
A: We recommend wearing long, comfortable trousers (such as jeans or hiking pants) and closed-toe shoes like sneakers or boots (avoid sandals or flip-flops). Dressing in layers is ideal depending on the season, and don’t forget your sunglasses, sunscreen, and a camera or phone to capture the stunning panoramic views!
Q: Where are your ranches located?
A: We operate across two unique bases on different sides of Vesuvius National Park: one on the hills of Mount Somma overlooking the Campania Plain, and another nestled within the peaceful pine forests of Terzigno. Each location offers a completely different scenery and trail network.
Q: Are the horses well-trained and safe?
A: Absolutely. Our horses are part of our family and live free across our 33-hectare open spaces, ensuring a healthy, calm temperament. We use gentle, psychology-based communication rather than force, making them exceptionally gentle, attentive, and reliable partners for our guests.
Q: What are the group size limits, age requirements, and experience rules?
A: There is no minimum group size. For safety and quality, the maximum group size is 8 people, and this applies only if there are experienced riders making up at least one-third of the group. For groups with no prior experience, the maximum group size is limited to 5 people. The minimum age requirement is 14 years old, unless the participant has proven, verifiable horseback riding experience.
Q: What languages does the staff speak?
A: We speak English and Spanish fluently to ensure you feel completely at ease and well-guided throughout your experience. We also speak French and Portuguese at a basic, conversational level.
Q: Can we combine wine tastings or lunch with our ride?
A: Yes! Many of our signature experiences, such as the Taste Walk, combine scenic horseback riding or farm exploration with 100% organic DOP wine tastings (like the famous Lacryma Christi), traditional local lunches, and panoramic terrace views over the Gulf of Naples.
