Culinary Tradition and Winy!

In Italy food is a real social expression, part of culture and a convivial way to spend time together. Each Italian region has its own traditions and specialties. Campania is one of those regions that expresses its tradition also through food. The culinary tradition is the result of centuries mixing innovation and tradition with new imported products and re-proposed locally. The culinary and wine tradition in Campania has its roots with Magna Grecia. It was the Greeks who imported the first vines in Campania, finding the place particularly favourable for its cultivation, having great success even in Roman times. In the Middle Age the monasteries kept alive the Greco-Roman tradition until the Renaissance and modern times. Campania boasts many traditional products, which over the years have acquired the European cultural safeguard brands. DOP (Protected Designation of Origin) IGP (Protected Geographical Indication) STG (Traditional Specialty Guaranteed) DOC (Certified Designation of Origin) DOCG (Certified and Guaranteed Denomination of Origin) The range product is from wine to cheese, from pasta to fruit.

Vesuvius area

The Vesuvian countryside is made up of volcanic soil and this gives particular organoleptic properties to the agricultural products growing in this area. The pride of this area is Lacryma Christi, a wine with a long history behind, and Pomodorino del Piennolo del Vesuvio, which takes its name from the form of harvest, both DOP products. Others products from nearby locations are Pasta di Gragnano IGP, Penisola Sorrentina DOP Extra Virgin Oil Olive, Provolone del Monaco DOP, Ricotta di Bufala Campana DOP, Lemon of Sorrento IGP and Mozzarella di Bufala Campana DOP. The mozzarella is the only product in Italy, together with Pizza Napoletana, to have the European STG brand. We have made a rundown of brands recognized by the European community, which we do not mean that they are qualitatively better products. The brand is just a guarantee for the work method and its origin.
